Commodities Overview
The Montgomery County Information Technology (IT) Commodities contract is a Montgomery County, Maryland Information Technology (IT) contract for the purchase of products and services. The contract is available to all Montgomery County entities and the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments.

The Montgomery County IT Commodities contract can be used to purchase a wide variety of commodities including hardware, software, software licenses, software maintenance, training, extended warranties and installation services. The types of commodities that can be purchased under this contract includes but is not limited to:

  • Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) Software products, installation, training and maintenance
  • IT Hardware such as: Specialized servers, servers, customer desktop computers, customer laptops, ruggedized laptops, monitors, printers, plotters, scanners, hard drives and arrays, network equipment, telecommunications equipment, cable TV equipment, computer memory and replacement parts and extended warranty services.
This contract does not include:
  • Consumable products such as toner, ribbons, CD or DVD diskettes or other office products
  • Copiers
  • Cellular telephones and service
