September’s Employees of the Month at Strategic

Every month, the employees at Strategic Communications are given the opportunity to acknowledge exemplary colleagues within or outside their department. Three individuals were chosen by their coworkers for their commitment to customer service, perseverance in the face of challenges, and can-do attitudes!

Henry Escobar | Regional Sales Director

• How long have you worked for Strategic Communications?

I’ve been with Strategic Communications for about a year and a few months now, having started in July of last year.

• What was your background prior to working for Strategic Communications?

My educational background includes a business management degree from James Madison University, where I focused on Analytics. Prior to joining Strategic, I had the opportunity to work at AWS for five years, further enhancing my expertise in the Cloud.

• What aspect of your job do you find most rewarding or fulfilling?

The most rewarding part of my job is definitely the customer relationships. I love being able to solve problems for my customers. It’s incredibly fulfilling to shed light on the complexities of the IT industry for them and provide solutions. There’s nothing better than having a customer come to you with a problem you know you can solve.

• What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?

Prioritize your well-being. A healthy work-life balance can improve your productivity, creativity, and overall job satisfaction.

• Outside of work, what are you passionate about/enjoy doing?

I’m absolutely mad about soccer – or futbol, if you prefer. Real Madrid isn’t just a team to me; it’s been a part of my life since I was a kid. I never miss a game, and I’m actually heading to Europe in a few weeks to watch them live for the first time.

• What is your current favorite TV Show, Podcast, or Book that you’d like to share with the world?

I’ve been rewatching “Veep” lately – for obvious reasons, of course! It’s
hilarious, and Selina Meyer is the president we all need… just kidding! As for podcasts, I’m a big fan of “Stuff You Should Know.” They have
this knack for making topics I never thought I’d be interested in absolutely fascinating.

• What is something that people may not know about you?

When I’m not cheering for Real Madrid, you’ll find me at the grill or smoker. I’m passionate about cooking, especially during summer. I love experimenting with different seasonings, pellets, and temperatures when smoking meats. There’s nothing better than having my family over for a barbecue feast.

Madeline Klass | Marketing Coordinator

• How long have you worked for Strategic Communications?

I’ve been with Strategic Communications for 4 and a half months!

• What was your background prior to working for Strategic Communications?

Before working at Strategic Communications, I was at a B2B SaaS company that focused on hiring and retention. In my early 20s, I was a Newsroom Manager for a newspaper in rural Kentucky where I reported on several stories.

What aspect of your job do you find most rewarding or fulfilling?

I love getting into people’s heads — its what marketing is all about!

• What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?

Progress over perfection. We want to do everything to the best of our ability, but we have to be realistic about what’s good enough and what we’re wasting time on.

• Outside of work, what are you passionate about/enjoy doing?

I’m passionate about writing/reading. In a past life as a librarian’s assistant, I facilitated a creative writing group for adults.

What is your current favorite TV Show, Podcast, or Book that you’d like to share with the world?

Podcast: Serial Killers &  Going West

• What is something that people may not know about you?

One of the first stories I wrote about as a new reporter was on Rinker Buck floating down the Ohio/Mississippi Rivers in a flatboat that he had constructed as closely as possible to those found in settler’s days. The county seat I reported from was right on the Ohio River and he docked there for an evening. I got the story, a signed copy of his previous book about crossing the Oregon Trail, and an invite to sail down river with him and his first mate (which I politely declined).

Bambi Fox | Senior Contract Program Manager

• How long have you worked for Strategic Communications?

28 Years

• What is your favorite project that you’ve worked on at Strategic?

Definitely all of the Contracts – They are my babies; I love taking care of them 😊

What does your dream vacation look like?

Always includes a Beach!

• Who is your favorite musical artist, and what was the first concert you attended?

So many favs… The Beatles, Led Zep, Eagles, Aerosmith… Def a 70’s Girl! My 1st concert was 1974 (Most Strategic Employees weren’t even born yet, LOL!!!) Elton John at Madison Square Garden – and John Lennon joined him.  Still one of my favorite concerts ever… It was the concert that got me hooked.

How would your friends, family, and co-workers describe you in three words?

Hopefully they would say: Faithful, Happy and Prayer-Warrior (I tried to make it one word)

What is your current favorite TV Show, Podcast, or Book that you’d like to share with the world?

This will not come as a surprise to anyone that knows me… The Bible; it def needs to be shared with the world right now
